I chose the Arabian horse to represent, Shade, the flying horse because of this animal’s refined personality and beauty.
Arabian horses are sometimes considered to be high strung horses and some people won’t touch them. But they make a good family horse and are excellent with children. They are being bred for their mild dispositions. Sometimes it takes some getting used to the concave dish on the face of the horse, or the shorter back, or the wider feet used for the staying on top of the sand, but once you get to know this breed of horse you will love the animal.
The horse has a beautiful attitude and grace when running and moving. Arabians are a race horse base for thoroughbreds and are considered the best breed for distances. They are excellent with balance and agility. Good for pleasure riding both English and Western and pulling carts of all sizes. There are over 700 all- Arabian races held all over America every year.
Jeff Doty is going to go over my novel this weekend and possibly suggest some changes.

The workshop taught me a couple new ways to work with my characters, One was to do a family tree for each one, the second concept was to graph out the whole novel using Excel, using plus or minuses to see a pattern. The Excel at the top has power, non power, love, etc. Down the left side are the chapters 1 through to the end chapter. Mostly it was a presentation about the Masters degree at Hamline University in Minnesota.
